Aanaab Secures $1.5M to Expand Arabic Online Courses for Educators
Jeddah-based edtech startup Aanaab has secured $1.5 million in its first external funding round. The platform offers online courses in Arabic for teachers and educators, aiming to enhance their skills across various educational areas, taught by teachers pay teachers and accessible through online course platforms.
Founded by Mounira Jamjoom, a PhD holder in Education from the University of Oxford and former Assistant Governor of ETEC in Saudi, Aanaab has garnered significant support. The funding round was led by Nour Nouf Knowledge Company and Wamda, with additional backing from Shorooq Partners and Raed Ventures.
Aanaab's impact is evident in its partnerships and achievements. It has collaborated with the Ministry of Education in Saudi to train over 1,000 teachers in tech integration. To date, over 450 teachers have earned Cambridge International certificates through Aanaab's courses. The platform has reached a remarkable 37,000 teachers in the Arab world, with a 28% course completion rate.
Aanaab's courses are free to enroll in, with a fee required for certificate completion upon achieving a passing score of 60-70 percent. The platform boasts content partnerships with esteemed institutions such as Cambridge Assessment International Education, Dar Al-Hekma University, and Rwaq. Moreover, Aanaab offers professional development solutions for schools and education centers to manage teacher and leader training, making it a comprehensive business solution for educators.
With its latest funding, Aanaab is poised to expand its reach and enhance its offerings.
