The University of Applied Sciences Lower Rhine is gearing up for an engaging semester, with a variety of events, courses, and programmes planned for students and visitors alike.

One of the highlights of the upcoming semester is the FAUST programme, which offers international academic collaboration and exchange projects focused on research and education cooperation. While specific details about the FAUSTplus programme are yet to be announced, it typically includes workshops, seminars, or lectures.

Albert Verleysdonk will be teaching a seminar on the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), providing valuable insights into this rapidly evolving field. Registration for the event is open from September 1 to 19, 2025.

For those interested in language courses, the university offers opportunities to learn new languages or improve existing skills.

The lecture series "Boundaries" will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Erik Schmid, Dean of the Design Department, and will examine the topic from a multidisciplinary perspective. The series will be held in both Mönchengladbach and Krefeld, with the Mönchengladbach sessions taking place in Room 301, Building S, and the Krefeld sessions at the Future Work Lab (Petersstraße 122). The start date for "Boundaries" is October 28.

Another interesting lecture series is "The Tension Field Between Fear and Trust," which will explore how fears arise and the role of trust in society. This series will be held on-site in Mönchengladbach (Room 301, Building S) or online, and the first session will take place on October 9.

To facilitate participation, introductory courses for using Zoom and the learning platform "moodle" will be offered before the start of the semester.

Visiting students can attend selected courses from regular study programmes in various fields, including chemistry, design, engineering sciences, informatics, oecotrophology, social work, textile and clothing technology, economics, health sciences, and for the first time, lectures from the new applied psychology program.

All guest students will receive an ID card granting access to the cafeteria, language centers, and libraries. Digital events will be held using the video conferencing software Zoom.

The launch event for the semester will take place on Thursday, September 25, from 2 to 4:30 PM at the Mönchengladbach campus (Room S E01, Building S, Richard-Wagner-Straße 101).
