Annual Day of IMA Kuwait celebrated through cultural displays and performances at IMAWIS event
The Indian Muslim Association (IMA) in Kuwait celebrated the Annual Day and Felicitation Ceremony 2025 of its IMA Weekend Islamic School (IMAWIS) on September 12 at the Awqaf Auditorium in Reggai. The event was a grand spectacle, attended by students, parents, dignitaries, and community members.
The program commenced with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by student Afiyah Jawwad Khan, followed by its translation by Yahya Hamdan. This was followed by a series of speeches from distinguished guests, including Mr. Jamal Abdul Khaliq Abdullah Al Nouri and Mr. Aslam Parvez, who emphasized the importance of knowledge, unity, and values.
IMAWIS Principal, Mr. Nisar Ahmad, delivered a welcome address outlining the school's vision and achievements. He was followed by Mr. Shamveel Parvez, the ex-President of IMA, who praised the dedication of students, teachers, and parents in his presidential address.
The Awards and Felicitation Ceremony recognized outstanding students for their achievements in academics, Islamic studies, and extracurricular activities. Drama performances titled "The Value of Ilm (Knowledge)" and "We Are One Ummah" were delivered, showcasing the talents of IMAWIS students.
Mr. Jawwad Khan and a group of young students presented a melodious Urdu nasheed, adding a musical touch to the event. Ridha Fayyaz Bhandarkar and Muhammad Ahmed Hanif delivered well-prepared speeches on "The Character of an Ideal Muslim" and "Obedience to Parents" respectively, imparting valuable lessons to the audience.
The cultural program was not just about performances and speeches; it was a platform for the students to showcase their talents. Nasheeds, skits, and speeches filled the auditorium with energy and enthusiasm.
IMA Kuwait gratefully acknowledged Al Faysal Bakery for sponsoring children's snack boxes and Malabar Gold for providing water bottles. The Chief Coordinator at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mr. Mohammed Ali, attended the program as a special guest.
