April Showcase of Student Artwork: 2023 Edition
In April 2023, the ArtsWest gallery in Seattle featured an exceptional exhibition showcasing art, design, digital media, and photography work from local high schools. The show, titled "Exploration and Manipulation," highlighted student creations from Chief Sealth International and West Seattle High Schools, focusing on social issues.
The exhibition ran from March 9 to April 7, 2023, with a reception held on April 27, 2023, and was free and open to the public. The student artwork on display can typically be found at the ArtsWest venue and may be described on their website under "Exhibitions."
A total of 40 outstanding students had their work selected for this prestigious exhibition. These students include Aaron Allina, Alaina Simpson, Alexa Vasquez, Alexandra Mocomb, Andrea Larez, Autumn Aycock, Brett Yokota, Cameron Bentley, Douglas Gorham, Elia Giuliani, Eric Moreno, Grace Mahovsky, Haley Delgiacco, Jaclyn Marr, Jason Smith, Jessica Lecher-Wasson, Joshua Chislett, Kathryn Dunford, Kelly Gillespie, Kristin Weidemann, Maeleen Rosetti, Maggie Brownstone, Martin Brannan, Megan Lewis-Reed, Micky Jordan, Nevaeh Baxter, Olivia Barrilleaux, Prince Maduekwe, Rhiannon Williams, Richard Rivera, Samantha Nelson, Stacey Alexander, Tamara Lance, Thomas Newhall, Viansa Lozano, Victoria Torres, William Esque, and Zachari Haselow.
The faculty members of the participating schools nominated the student work for the gallery. Lauren Hernandez, the Manager, Faculty and Curriculum Development, and Patricio Sarzosa, the Creative Director, were involved in the curation and production of the gallery.
