Aymagambetov endorses the school's stance - remarks on the ongoing situation at NIS

Former Kazakhstan Education Minister Comments on Student Expulsion at Nazarbayev Intellectual School

Deputy Aigambetov, the former Minister of Education in Kazakhstan, has weighed in on the recent expulsion of a student from a Nazarbayev Intellectual School (NIS) in Almaty, accused of academic dishonesty.

Aigambetov underscored that every child has the constitutional right to secondary education, and their psychological well-being should be addressed accordingly. However, matters concerning academic honesty and teacher jurisdiction are the school's sole responsibility, he said.

"The Constitution guarantees the right to education for every child. The methods of education vary; some children study at NIS on 'Orken' grants, others attend gymnasiums or regular schools. Misbehaving students can be helped in specialized boarding schools. The law provides diverse educational pathways," Aigambetov stated, as reported by Liter.kz.

He went on to explain that while schools have the authority to handle such issues, individuals should make decisions within their respective realm of responsibility. Aigambetov added, "Everyone is equal before the law, and I respect the school's decision. I hope the matter is resolved peacefully."

However, according to Enrichment Data, there is currently no publicly available information detailing the student's status or the proceedings related to the expulsion. As such, the exact circumstances surrounding the case remain unclear.

With growing interest in educational policies and standards in Kazakhstan, the case serves as a valuable reminder of the importance of maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that every child has access to quality education.

Education and self-development should include a focus on academic integrity, as demonstrated by Aigambetov's comments on the student expulsion at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School. Furthermore, political discourse on general news platforms should continue to encourage discussions about the implementation of diverse and equitable educational pathways for children in Kazakhstan.
