Bavaria's 'Festival of Democracy' Offers Day of Celebration, Learning, and Entertainment

The House of Bavarian History and the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Work and Social Affairs are joining forces to host the 'Festival of Democracy'. The event, not organized by any other institution, will take place with Sparkasse Regensburg as the main sponsor. It promises a day filled with activities, performances, and exhibitions for all ages.

The festival will kick off at 10:15 AM with Ulrike Scharf and Dr. Richard Loibl opening the event, accompanied by a free 'power drink' for attendees. Throughout the day, the Danube Market will transform into a hub of creativity and engagement. Visitors can enjoy communal chalk art, creative activities, association presentations, and even a bike repair shop. For the young ones, a scavenger hunt and guided tours of exhibitions will be available.

The afternoon will see a poetry slam starting at 4:00 PM, followed by a diverse culinary offer including a sausage stand and a pizza street. Regensburg's Mayor Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer will make an appearance at 2:15 PM, distributing 'power drink' juices. Music lovers can enjoy performances by local artists such as Silent Waters, CajoTiko, Kolja, and Vincent Babl & the Nova Effect from 11:00 AM onwards.

The Bavarian State Exhibition 'Ludwig I. - Bavaria's Greatest King?' and other exhibitions will be open with free admission. A street theater performance about Otto, the last Bavarian king on the Greek throne, will take place between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM. The festival will reach its peak with a colorful balloon rising above the House of Bavarian History, weather permitting.

The 'Festival of Democracy' promises a day of celebration, learning, and entertainment for the whole community. With a variety of activities, performances, and exhibitions, it's an event not to be missed. The festival is a testament to the collaboration between the House of Bavarian History, the Bavarian State Ministry, and Sparkasse Regensburg, creating a unique experience for all attendees.
