Celebration of Children and Families Invitation: The Federal Institute of Public Health hosts a grand event for World Children's Day in Cologne

On September 21, the Federal Institute of Public Health (BIOG) is hosting a vibrant and engaging World Children's Day festival in Cologne Rheinauhafen. This year's theme is "Children's Rights - Building Blocks for Democracy!", emphasising the importance of nurturing children's rights and fostering a democratic society.

The festival will be a family-friendly affair, featuring a stage at the Chocolate Museum, colorful stalls, interactive activities, and information offerings. The stage program, running from 12:00 to 18:00, promises music, games, and activities for all ages.

At 12:45, the official opening of the festival will take place, attended by Mayor Dr. Ralf Heinen, Isabella Neven Dumont, and other guests. The festivities will kick off with a performance by the Rampenlichter - Artists of the Cologne Spielcircus.

At 13:00 and 14:45, the beloved Mouse from "Die Sendung mit der Maus" will invite children and parents to dance, and a rotating climbing wheel next to the stage will offer sporting challenges. Singa Gätgens, KiKA presenter and ambassador for the "Strengthening Children" initiative, will lead the stage program throughout the day.

At 13:30 and 15:15, Singa will also lead an interactive show. The "Strengthening Children" show will take place at 12:15, 14:00, and 16:00, promoting qualities such as trust, attention, and reliability as a foundation for a life free from addiction.

A dance group from the Open After-School Care Center Forststraße will perform with Fug & Janina from the Catholic Youth Agency Cologne at 16:00. The Hunoldstraße kindergarten will receive an award ceremony by the Federal Institute of Public Health at 14:45.

Those who wish to take a break can find information offerings for caregivers about the healthy growth of children in the Federal Institute of Public Health's consultation tent. The BIOG podium at the Kindertagen festival was organized by the Federal Institute for Public Health.

The festival will also welcome special guests such as UNICEF ambassadors Jana Ina and Giovanni Zarrella, and Cologne band Cat Ballou. The finale of the festival will occur at 18:00, marking the end of a day filled with entertainment, learning, and empowerment for children and families alike.
