Commencement of expansion for Goetheschule in Neu-Isenburg, significant education undertaking initiated
The Offenbach district is investing around 15 million euros in the comprehensive expansion of the Goetheschule in Neu-Isenburg. The project includes the construction of a new building, aimed at providing a modern and sustainable learning environment for its growing student population.
The new building will house twelve new classrooms over two floors. Among these, eleven will be general classrooms, designed with five flexible functional areas for group learning and teamwork in the upper grades. One classroom will be dedicated specifically to the subject "Performing Arts". Additionally, two meeting rooms will be available for parent-teacher conferences or team meetings.
The outdoor facilities of the Goetheschule will be reorganized and improved. New sports and recreation areas will be created for students, including a Calisthenics facility, additional football goals, a Teqball plate, and covered seating areas. To cater to the needs of the school's staff and visitors, 25 parking spaces for buses and 13 parking spaces for teaching staff are planned, some of which will be equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles.
Sustainable construction methods will be employed in the new building. Exposed concrete load-bearing walls and a wooden structure will be used, and the facade will be insulated and have a render surface. Photovoltaic systems will be installed on the flat roof of the new building to supply the school's air-source heat pumps with electricity.
Barrier-free access to the building is part of the outdoor improvements, ensuring inclusivity for all students and visitors. A modern cafeteria with 150 seats and ancillary rooms will be included in the new building, with deliveries optimized for efficiency.
The planning for the expansion allows for future expansion of the building in the northern direction. The fire service access roads will be adapted to accommodate the expansion. The completion date for the project is scheduled for November 2026.
It's worth noting that no public or accessible documentation explicitly covers the expansion project for this school as of the current date. For more detailed information such as the scope, timeline, or financial data, it is recommended to consult the official website or press releases of the city of Neu-Isenburg or the school itself, or local news outlets covering municipal developments.
The Performing Arts classroom will not only be a general classroom but also a space dedicated to sports and education-and-self-development, as it will serve as a venue for various performances. The outdoor facilities, inclusive of a Calisthenics facility, additional football goals, a Teqball plate, and covered seating areas, will offer students opportunities for sports activities and recreation, promoting a balanced ecosystem of sports and education.
