Celebrating Three Decades of Nurturing Young Talent: Palucca Association Milestone Achievement - EU Advances in Pursuit of Advancing Technological Development

Palucca Dance School Celebrates 30 Years of Supporting the Future Generation of Dancers

In Dresden, the Palucca School of Dance is currently focusing on the Palucca Support Association, a non-profit organisation dedicated to aiding this internationally acclaimed dance institution. Established on May 31, 1995, by dance-enthused city residents, the association now boasts over 100 members, many of whom are former students from the school.

Association Chair Christina Flume affirms their mission as providing ideological and material aid to students and current students, allowing them to embark upon a fulfilling artistic journey. On the occasion of their 30th anniversary, the association extends its gratitude to all supporters who share the enthusiasm for dance.

Legendary dancer Gret Palucca, the namesake of the school, would likely be proud of the association. Founded a century ago, her school has evolved to become Germany's only independent dance academy, focusing on equal education in contemporary and classical dance as well as improvisation. The goal is to erase boundaries between these disciplines, fostering creativity and new expressions.

Central to the association's artistic philosophy is the founder of the school. Expressiveness, individuality, and a passion for dance are at the heart of their activities. Funding is provided for student projects and training expenses such as dancewear and shoes, significantly contributing to the students' education.

One such project is the "Pointe Shoe Sponsorship", which enables each student to receive two pairs of pointe shoes each academic year. According to Rector Katharina Christl, every contribution is a step towards securing the future of the art of dance and the young talent that will grace German dance stages.

In celebration of their anniversary, the association warmly invites new members to join this thriving support community. With an annual fee of 60 euros - offers for pensioners and students are available - members can actively contribute to the nurturing of the next generation of dancers. Those who wish to support a specific student may do so through a donation.

Currently, the school hosts 144 students from around 20 countries, with training commencing at the age of 10. The tenth grade serves as a talent identification phase, while admission to the three-year Bachelor's degree program is granted in the final year. Beyond the Bachelor's degree, the school offers Master's programs in dance pedagogy and choreography, as well as a master class program.
