German Charity Empowers Nepalese Women with 27,500 Reusable Pads

Dortmund-based charity 'Ganesh Nepalhilfe e.V.' has been making strides in Nepal, supporting women and girls for over a decade. Their 'Ganesh Women' project has recently distributed over 27,500 reusable hygiene pads, benefiting more than 4,500 individuals. This initiative not only provides essential products but also empowers women through employment and education.

The association works closely with a local partner to ensure effective deployment of funds and donations. Their project in Kathmandu has distributed 2455 sets in 2024 and 2131 sets in 2025 so far. The project employs women from challenging backgrounds, providing them with secure jobs and financial independence. This aligns with the project's aim to empower women and girls by addressing menstrual hygiene and providing education.

Nepal, a country of contrasts between traditional society and modern needs, faces challenges like the caste system that disproportionately affects women. The 'Ganesh Women' project tackles these issues by offering women a means to support themselves and their families, while also promoting menstrual health awareness.

In 2023 alone, the association distributed over 27,500 reusable hygiene pads, benefiting over 4,500 women and girls. The 'Ganesh Women' project continues to make a significant impact, providing essential products, employment, and education to women in Nepal.
