The Amphiphilicity Plus Graduate School at Martin-Luther-University of Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) is set to broaden its research horizons with the announcement of a new scholarship program for international researchers. This initiative forms part of the graduate school's second funding phase, which commenced in May 2021, despite the ongoing Corona pandemic.

The Amphiphilicity Plus Graduate School focuses on the fundamental principle of molecular order: amphiphilicity, a property found in substances that are both fat- and water-soluble. This universal molecular building principle is omnipresent in nature, with many examples including soap.

The graduate school brings together researchers from various disciplines, including chemistry, physics, biochemistry, and mathematics, to explore the intricacies of amphiphilic systems. The research projects in the second funding phase have been designed to expand on the study of self-organising chemical systems, with key themes such as the design and synthesis of amphiphilic molecules, self-assembly and supramolecular systems, functional materials, interfacial phenomena, and biological interfaces.

The scholarship program aims to attract highly qualified doctoral candidates from around the world. To be eligible, applicants should hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or related fields, with a strong interest and background in amphiphilic systems or related interdisciplinary research areas.

Successful candidates will benefit from a competitive monthly stipend to cover living expenses, access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and scientific infrastructure at MLU, participation in specialized workshops, seminars, and conferences, opportunities for international collaboration and research stays abroad, and mentoring and career development support.

The application process involves submitting a research proposal aligned with the graduate school’s thematic areas, academic transcripts, a CV, and letters of recommendation. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview by the selection committee. Detailed application instructions can be found on the graduate school’s official website.

For the latest details on research projects, application deadlines, and scholarship offerings, please visit the Amphiphilicity Plus Graduate School at MLU's website or contact them via email or phone. With the start of the international scholarship program, the graduate school is poised to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, driving groundbreaking research in the field of amphiphilicity.

The Amphiphilicity Plus Graduate School at Martin-Luther-University of Halle-Wittenberg is not only expanding its research horizons but also stimulating education-and-self-development, providing a scholarship program for international researchers interested in science, particularly amphiphilic systems and related fields of study. This scholarship program, with its competitive monthly stipend, access to advanced facilities, specialized workshops, and mentoring, is aimed at attracting highly qualified doctoral candidates, encouraging them to delve deeper into learning about amphiphilicity and its applications.
