India Braces for Severe Weather: Bihar on Red Alert, Mumbai Enjoys Respite

Several Indian states brace for severe weather conditions as the monsoon season continues. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alerts for multiple regions, with Bihar on red alert for heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, Mumbai enjoys respite from rain with clear skies.

The IMD has sounded an orange alert for several regions across India, including Uttar Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim, and parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Bihar is on red alert, with heavy rainfall expected in West Champaran, Gaya, and Kaimur, while other regions remain on orange alert.

Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are predicted for Marathwada. A deep depression is forecast over Odisha, with another forming over the northeast Arabian Sea. Mumbai's districts can expect light to moderate rain with gusty winds of 30-40 km/h.

The IMD's alerts aim to ensure safety and preparedness in affected regions. While Bihar and other states brace for heavy rainfall, Mumbai residents enjoy clear skies after experiencing an 'above normal' monsoon season.
