Gear up, folks! The regional professional skills extravaganza, WorldSkills Astana-2025, is kicking off on May 16 and running through the 30th in the heart of Astana's educational institutions. Buckle up for a two-week battle royale across 15 diverse platforms, with none other than our city's up-and-coming whizzes take the stage to stake a claim as the next big names in these fields: bricklaying, prototyping, confectionery, info cable networks, car repair, restaurant service, welding technologies, network and system admin, baking, CNC machine tooling, dry construction, CAD engineering graphics, IT business solutions, hairdressing, cooking, web technologies, graphic design, fashion tech, mobile robotics, primary school teaching, body repair, mobile app development, industrial automation, mechatronics, plumbing and heating, electrical installation, painting and decorating, tile installation, carpentry, entrepreneurship, CNC milling, E-mobility, hotel reception, floristry, 3D game modeling, mobigraphy, internet marketing, early childhood education, physical culture, sport, video editing, cloud programming, electric locomotive management, railway transport management, information modeling technology (BIM), furniture production, and more!
That's right; we're talking over 40 unique skill categories here! This major event is set to draw in 300 young talents from across our city, not to mention around 250 top-notch experts and a whopping 4,000 guests--make sure to stake your claim to a front-row seat!
This year's event won't just be about able-bodied competitors, though. As WorldSkills Astana-2025, we're proud to welcome Abilympics participants (a competition designed for individuals with disabilities), Deafskills (for those with hearing impairments), and Jasskills (for school students) to take part and show that everyone has a place in the skills of tomorrow!
The regional stage isn't all, though. This year's championship marks the tenth edition of the event in our capital city. Winners here will move on to represent the nation in the national championship WorldSkills Kazakhstan-2025.
Did you miss last year's action? Then you'll be chomping at the bit to know that participants from Astana took home first place among Kazakh regions in the team competition during WorldSkills Kazakhstan-2024. Not too shabby, huh?
As if all that wasn't enough to get the hype train rolling, the organizers have a few more surprises in store. Expect a rally for schoolkids within the "100 Profiled Classes" project, focusing on service, design, sewing production, railway transport, IT, pedagogy, and medicine. The Republican Championship of CHOCOLATINE KAZAKHSTAN 2025 will also be taking place, along with excursions and masterclasses at local colleges in collaboration with partners.
Now, for a little extra tidbit: One impressive young student from College Mukhametzhan Agybay, who grabbed a gold medal at the international WorldSkills championship in Budapest back in April, happens to be the winner of WorldSkills Kazakhstan 2024. Talk about home-grown talent, huh?
But wait, there's more! For the first time ever, Astana will be playing host to the TurkicSkills championship, uniting participants from Turkic-speaking countries.
In a nutshell, the WorldSkills Astana-2025 event is about shining a spotlight on vocational excellence, connecting with youth in skilled professions, and fostering inclusion. So buckle up and mark your calendars for May 16 through May 30! It's time to get inspired and connect with tomorrow's brightest stars! 🌟🥇🌟
