Unfilled Training Positions Await Around 10,000 Job Seekers at Employment Agency - Job Vacancies Aplenty at Employment Agency: Counts Approximately 10,000 Unfilled Positions
Unfilled Apprenticeships Persist in Saxony region with Approximately 10,000 Vacancies
According to a recent report from the Job Center's regional office in Saxony, there are still around 10,000 unfilled apprenticeship positions in the region. Since the start of the training year in October, more than 16,500 training positions have been reported to Saxon companies. Despite this, close to 60 percent of these positions remain unclaimed.
The deputy director of the Federal Employment Agency's regional office in Saxony, Steffen Leonhardi, commented, "In Saxony, there is one reported training position for every registered applicant." The goal is to connect undecided young individuals with open companies. To date, the most popular training positions reported in the region include retail merchants, salespersons, and mechatronics engineers.
In Germany, apprenticeships are a vital part of the vocational training system, offering young people a path to acquire relevant skills in various industries. Economic conditions, industry demands, and demographic changes can impact the number of available positions and fill rates. Common training positions in Germany often include roles such as industrial clerks, electronic engineers for operational technology, mechatronics technicians, and machine and system operators.
For those interested in seeking an apprenticeship in Saxony or foreigners looking to improve their job prospects, enhancing their German language skills is crucial. Vocational language courses can help individuals improve their German skills that are specific to a job, potentially increasing the chances of securing an apprenticeship.
