Last Call: School Travel Reimbursement Deadline Oct 31, 2025

Parents and guardians of schoolchildren in the district are reminded that the deadline for submitting applications for travel expense reimbursement for the school year 2024/2025 is October 31, 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered.

Only those who have not yet applied for travel expense reimbursement for the school years 2024/2025 are eligible to attend an information session on the reapplication process. For Germany flights, a cost receipt is required for each month of use, clearly showing the ticket holder's name for pro-rata reimbursement.

Information on student transport can be found in the 'Information sheet for students from grade 11' on the district's homepage. The reasonable personal contribution for travel costs is 320 euros per school year for families with one schoolchild and 490 euros per school year for families with two eligible schoolchildren. Families receiving certain benefits may be exempt from this contribution and could be eligible for a free travel pass.

Applications for travel cost reimbursement must be accompanied by tickets or payment receipts. For further queries, contact the department for schools, sports and culture at [email protected] or 06021/394-2340.
