LifeSciKY Welcomes Amelia Wares as Executive Operations Fellow

LifeSciKY, a nonprofit life science lab incubator based in Covington, is excited to announce the hiring of Amelia Wares as its executive operations fellow. Wares, a biomedical engineering student at the University of Cincinnati, will support high-level strategy, community engagement, and entrepreneurial initiatives at LifeSciKY.

LifeSciKY's mission is to position Northern Kentucky as a nationally recognized hub for life sciences innovation. To achieve this, they provide early-stage life science companies with access to fully funded lab space and coworking memberships at SparkHaus, a nearby innovation hub. This combination of subsidized lab space and coworking memberships aims to help science entrepreneurs take crucial next steps in developing their technologies and businesses in a supportive ecosystem.

The LifeSciKY facility, located in the OneNKY Center, spans 15,000 square feet and provides access to affordable labs and state-of-the-art equipment. Wares was drawn to LifeSciKY's commitment to educating and empowering the next generation of talent, and she sees Northern Kentucky as a dynamic hub for innovation.

Amelia Wares is the founder of TissuTrak, a digital health app designed to support people managing chronic illness. She also serves as a student representative for the UC Center for Entrepreneurship. Wares will assist Executive Director Dr. Christin Godale with day-to-day operations and will be a trusted resource for Lab Residents at LifeSciKY.

Dr. Godale is thrilled to welcome Wares to the LifeSciKY team. "Amelia's passion for life sciences and her entrepreneurial spirit make her an ideal fit for LifeSciKY," Godale said. "We are excited to have her on board as we prepare to open our brand-new life sciences lab later this year."
