Madrid & Kazakhstan Sign Digital Deal to Boost AI & GovTech

Madrid and Kazakhstan's National Information Technologies (NITEC) have signed a cooperation agreement to boost digital collaboration. The deal, seven months in the making, focuses on AI, data, and methodology exchange, as well as joint research and human capital development in the ICT sector.

The agreement, signed by NITEC and the Ministry of Digitalization of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, aims to foster cooperation in ICT, cybersecurity, AI regulation, data management, and GovTech promotion. Madrid, the second-largest EU region for tech employment, seeks to learn from Kazakhstan's advanced digital infrastructure and AI expertise.

Key aspects include exploring the creation of a joint GovTech testing platform in Madrid and establishing a dedicated AI department within the Spanish government. The minister emphasized the importance of educating public employees and citizens on responsible AI use. Additionally, the agreement aims to help small companies scale up using technology and AI.
