Mastering Amex Offers: Maximize Savings and Boost Rewards with American Express Benefits
American Express (Amex) Offers are deals linked to your American Express credit cards that can help you save money or earn extra points on shopping, dining, and travel. These offers are available on most U.S.-issued American Express credit cards, with exceptions being American Express corporate cards, gift cards, or prepaid cards.
To access Amex Offers, log in to your American Express account, scroll to the Amex Offers & Benefits section, click on the arrow to see details and terms, and click Add to Card before using the offer. New offers are added often, but they are only available for a limited time with an expiration date.
When buying gift cards, it's essential to check their eligibility before making the purchase. The same offer can't be added to multiple cards; once it's added, the offer will disappear instantly from the other cards.
The American Express Gold Card and The Platinum Card from American Express are recommended personal cards that come with Amex Offers. The Gold Card offers big rewards for dining out and U.S. supermarkets, while the Platinum Card provides luxury travel benefits and generous statement credits.
You can view and add Amex Offers to your credit card on your phone using the Amex Mobile app. On the app, you can also see how much money you have saved over the lifetime of the card.
After adding an offer to a card, it can't be undone, so be sure to add it to the card you actually want it on. Most Amex Offers will either give a statement credit or bonus American Express Membership Rewards points after meeting qualifications.
To use Amex Offers, you must add each offer to your credit card before you redeem it. After redeeming an offer, you should receive an email and a statement credit or bonus Membership Rewards points within 90 days.
It's important to note that each offer has different terms and conditions, and it's crucial to read them thoroughly to avoid losing out on offers. Some offers require a minimum spend, which can either be per transaction or spread out over multiple visits.
Amex Offers can be used in conjunction with store coupons, credit card bonus points, or cash-back from shopping portals. In Germany, all American Express credit cards issued there, including consumer and business cards, are eligible for Amex Offers except corporate cards for companies with annual revenues above ten million euros.
To check for bonus points, select Statements & Activity, click on "View activity", and review the bonus points next to each transaction. To check for a statement credit, log in to AmericanExpress.com, scroll to the Recent Transactions section, and look for the credit in the current or previous statement periods.
Keep an eye out for offers at stores that sell gift cards to maximise the value of Amex Offers. And remember, with Amex Offers, you're not just using a credit card—you're unlocking a world of savings and rewards.
