Nature Learning Workshop (AYA)
The Aya workshop, titled "Aya- The learnings of nature," was a productive and delightful day for design students and young architects. Conducted online on a specific day, this year's event was the latest in a series of annual design workshops organised by DD Architects since 2017.
The workshop featured industry patrons such as Mr. Padmabhushan Rajeev Sethi, an acclaimed designer and art curator, Mr. Dominic Sansoni, a photographer and associate of Geoffrey Bawa, and two faculty members from the fashion design department, Saumya Pande (Course Leader) and Pragya Sharma (Assistant Professor).
The faculty members spoke about the benefits of nature to society without harming the environment. Ms. Pande's session focused on making connections with nature and observing humanity in accordance with the environment. Ms. Sharma, on the other hand, spoke about the extraction of colors from plant materials.
The workshop primarily focused on enlightening attendees on various key areas of graphic design. Design nuances like earth landscape, agriculture, flora fauna, craft, textiles, and art forms were usually touched upon in these sessions. Each workshop session averaged around 30 minutes.
The principle idea behind this year's workshop was to teach attendees to observe everyday things in their surroundings and understand them in terms of architecture and design. The inspirational and intensive sessions received a lot of applause from its viewers.
Previous guest lecturers who participated in the AYA workshops by DD Architects before 2021 included architects and experts such as Mette Lange, Claire Foyer, and Silke Langenberg.
The Aya workshop is a significant part of DD Architects' annual design workshops, which aim to provide a platform for learning and sharing knowledge in the field of design. This year's workshop was a testament to the success of these efforts, offering a valuable learning experience for all those who attended.
