The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully administered the NEET UG 2025 exam, with over 20.8 lakh ambitious aspirants taking part in the medical entrance test. The examination was held across 5,453 centers in 548 Indian cities and 14 international locations.
To ensure a fair and secure testing environment, NTA took the "whole-of-government" approach, involving various ministries and agencies. A Centralized Control Room was set up, with officials from different government departments monitoring the proceedings. Mock drills were conducted on May 3, focusing on equipment checks, biometric authentication, and manpower availability. Most exam centers were located in government and aided institutions for streamlined logistics and security.
Reflecting the summer season, authorities arranged for drinking water, electricity, first aid, and portable toilets, and kept ambulance services on standby for emergencies. To curb misinformation and fraud, the NTA established a Suspicious Claims Reporting Portal on April 26, receiving over 2,300 reports leading to the identification of misbehaving Telegram and Instagram channels.
In the run-up to the exam, the Ministry of Education had coordination meetings with district magistrates and police chiefs nationwide, enforcing strict measures such as multiple frisking rounds, secured material transportation, and compliance with the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
Initial Thoughts Post NEET UG 2025
The NEET UG 2025 paper is said to have been moderately difficult, with a mix of easy, challenging, and average questions. The Physics section seemed the most formidable, followed by Chemistry and Biology in descending order of difficulty. Students suspect that the paper was lengthy and time-consuming, possibly impacting the scoring pattern. Some have predicted their scores to be around 600+ but expressed doubts about making it to a government medical college.
