New arrival at Augsburg's Central Customs Office identified as HZA-A
The Augsburg Main Customs Office, located in the heart of Swabia and extending into parts of Upper Bavaria, including the Ingolstadt area, is offering exciting career opportunities for young professionals. With over 1,700 positions available across various customs offices starting September 1, 2025, the office is gearing up for a new wave of talent.
For those interested in the customs service, two distinct paths are available: the middle service and the higher service. Theoretical parts of both services are completed at the Federal Administration School in Münster, with the middle service training taking place at the Education and Science Center's training centers of the Federal Finance Administration. On the other hand, the higher service's theoretical parts lead to a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B; Customs) or a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.; Administrative Informatics) degree, spanning a three-year dual study program.
The trainees in the middle service complete a two-year training program that qualifies them to use the professional title 'Finance Officer'. In contrast, the higher service trainees start a dual study program in administrative informatics on September 1, leading to a career in IT forensics, digitalization of customs administration, and various project work or database management.
Interested parties can apply for a position starting September 1, 2026, at the Main Customs Office Augsburg or the General Customs Directorate. The application deadline for the Augsburg Main Customs Office (middle and higher customs service) and the General Customs Directorate (administrative informatics) is October 15, 2025.
