New Classrooms at Maria Montessori School Completed and Delivered on Schedule
New Modular Building Adds Space for Comprehensive School
A new modular building has been added to the schoolyard of the local comprehensive school, providing an additional 750 square meters of space for teaching and learning. The anthracite-coloured structure, often referred to as "containers," will serve as an interim solution for the next three years.
The modular building, equipped with modern insulation materials, features dimmable LED lighting, sun protection blinds, smartboards, Wi-Fi, and ample power strips for charging student tablets. Its pleasant acoustics make it an ideal learning environment for students.
The expansion of the modular building, which took place in 2024, includes four additional classrooms on the first floor and one room on the ground floor. This addition was necessary to meet the space needs for the school years 2025/26 and 2026/27.
The total costs for construction, interior fittings, and rent until summer 2028 are approximately 800,000 euros. Furniture for the modular building will be delivered and set up during the last week of the summer holidays.
Sixth-grade classes will move into the modular building for the new school year, providing them with a modern and spacious learning environment. However, no information about the use of the modular building beyond the school years 2025/26 and 2026/27 is provided.
The next step is the renovation and expansion of the comprehensive school as a major project. Meanwhile, other school districts, such as Oneonta City School District and SST Sonterra, are also investing in educational infrastructure with ongoing projects planned for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 school years.
For precise information about the interim building expansion, it would be necessary to consult directly with the school district or project managers involved in the specific project.
The modular building, added to the comprehensive school, provides an additional space not only for teaching but also for self-development and learning opportunities. The school districts, such as Oneonta City School District and SST Sonterra, are also putting effort into education-and-self-development infrastructure, demonstrating a shared focus on future generations.
