The National Rifle Association (NRA) recently held its annual Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.), a unique opportunity for rising juniors and seniors to immerse themselves in leadership development, civic engagement, and education on American history and government.

The event, funded in part by The NRA Foundation, took place in Washington, D.C. in 2025. Over the course of a week, students participated in a guided tour of the NRA National Firearms Museum, visited historic sites such as Capitol Hill, George Washington's Mount Vernon, the National Archives Museum, the National Museum of the United States Army, and Arlington National Cemetery, and even participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

During the summit, students also had the opportunity to engage with NRA leadership in a question-and-answer session and participated in a mock Friends of NRA event. A signature component of the summit was the mock debate series, where students researched, prepared, and refined their arguments throughout the week before competing in formal debate sessions. They were evaluated on their performance, leadership, collaboration, and engagement.

At the conclusion of the 2025 NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.), $20,000 in End-of-Week Scholarships were awarded to 10 students. In addition, more than $10,000 in additional scholarship funding will be awarded through the NRA Youth Education Summit Grand Scholarship.

Some of the recipients of these scholarships include Justice S. from Oregon, who received a $1,000 scholarship, Mary C. from Washington, who received a $3,000 scholarship, Sam P. from Maine, who received a $4,000 scholarship, and Jacob S. from Rhode Island, who received a $2,000 scholarship. Other recipients include Julian F. from Ohio, Elie A. from Virginia, Aydri R. from Indiana, Campbell B. from Texas, and Colton G. from Minnesota, each receiving a $1,000 scholarship.

Applications for the 2026 NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) will open in Fall 2025. Interested students can visit yes.nra.org for more information or to apply for the event. The summit is scheduled for July 2026.

The 2025 NRA Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) was a transformative experience for all participants, as reflected in their speeches during the formal awards dinner. Tom DeBolt, CEO of Benelli USA, delivered a keynote speech at the dinner concluding the summit.

At the summit, students also had live-fire opportunities on the NRA Range. The next Youth Education Summit is expected to offer similar experiences and opportunities for young leaders to grow and learn.
