NSWC Launches Scholarship Program for Disadvantaged Students
The National Social Welfare Council (NSWC) has announced a scholarship program for higher education, with applications due by Chaitra 13, 2081 (March 26, 2025). The scheme aims to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those with disabilities, economically challenged individuals, Dalits, and Muslim women.
Eligible students must submit their applications online, accompanied by documents such as a copy of their Nepali citizenship certificate, proof of enrollment, recommendation letters, academic transcripts, and a copy of their bank checkbook. The age limit for applicants is 25 years for Bachelor's and 30 years for Master's levels, except for children of martyrs and conflict victims, and students with disabilities.
Additional documents are required based on the student's category. These may include a disability certificate, Dalit caste/ethnicity proof, freed Kamlari status proof, Muslim identity proof, or economically disadvantaged household status certificate. Students already receiving scholarships cannot apply, and duplicate awards for the same level of study are prohibited.
Successful applicants must submit Annex-5 and a progress report to receive subsequent installments. The scholarships under the economically disadvantaged or Dalit quota from the NEHEP program will only be provided for the project's duration.
The NSWC encourages eligible students to apply before the deadline, ensuring all required docs are submitted. Further information can be obtained from the NSWC's official website or office. Failure to meet the deadline or incomplete applications will result in disqualification.
