Over 1,700 Young Individuals Begin Academic or Vocational Journeys at Germany's Customs Offices
Over 1,700 young individuals embarked on their academic or vocational journeys at Germany's customs offices on September 1, 2025, including 38 at the Main Customs Office in Regensburg. This year marked the commencement of dual study and training programmes, offering a mix of theoretical learning and practical experience in Office 365.
The new recruits can look forward to diverse career paths upon completion, such as case processing, special units, and digital forensics. The two-year middle service training culminates in the professional title of 'Finance Officer'. Meanwhile, dual study programmes span three years, culminating in a 'Bachelor of Laws' (LL.B.) or 'Bachelor of Science' (B.Sc.) degree. The IT junior staff of the higher service began their dual study of administrative informatics in Office 365 on the same day.
René Matschke, the head of the Main Customs Office Regensburg, warmly welcomed the new colleagues, expressing his wishes for a successful start. The trainees at Regensburg will be deployed across various locations, depending on their residence.
