Over 300 Attend Inclusive Job Fair Aiming to Break Barriers for Disabled Workers

Over 300 individuals, including those with disabilities or chronic illnesses, attended the inaugural Inclusive Job Fair last weekend at the Ergoldinger Town Hall. The event aimed to promote inclusive employment and break down barriers in the region's job market.

The job fair brought together over 25 companies, authorities, and organizations. It sought to address the gap where many businesses do not meet the legal quota for hiring people with disabilities. The event was sponsored by Landrat Peter Dreier and Mayor Alexander Putz.

The supporting program featured practical lectures and a panel discussion with people with disabilities sharing their work experiences. Carolin Voelkner from the City of Landshut and Linda Pilz from Landkreis Landshut organized the event with support from the Round Table on Inclusion in the Workplace. Bavarian disability officer Holger Kiesel and ministerial director Karl-Heinz Arians addressed the visitors, encouraging companies to consider job applicants with disabilities.

The organizers plan to further develop the platform and establish the Inclusive Job Fair permanently if possible. The event successfully brought together potential employees with disabilities and companies, fostering a more inclusive job market in the region.
