Palatine Elizabeth's Vocational College Honored as a "Healthy School"

The Public Health Office of the district of Herford recently honoured four schools for their commitment to promoting health and wellbeing among students and staff. The Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg, Westerenger primary school, Löhne-Obernbeck primary school, and Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule were awarded the "Healthy School" certificate.

The award ceremony was attended by Renata Lleshi, Nadine Passarger, and Patrik Kasparak. Schools play an important role in teaching children and young people about the importance of health and taking appropriate actions.

The Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg has been recognised for its extensive health-related activities. These activities aim to educate students and staff on the importance of maintaining their health. Recently, the school conducted various activities with external specialists, such as prevention of eating disorders, relaxation, exercise, first aid, healthy international cuisine, and health-related workshops for teaching staff.

Health promotion and prevention are key focuses of the "Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis" program, which aids schools in organising health-promoting activities. The program, supported by the district health department for nine years, offers free individual and group offers for students and teaching staff. Schools can obtain information about the program for the current school year from the business office of the health conference or Renata Lleshi, the head of the health department at the Public Health Office of the district of Herford.

Renata Lleshi can be contacted at 05221 13-2419 or r.lleshi@our website for information about the "Healthy Schools" program. The Elisabeth von der Pfalz Berufskolleg received the "Healthy School in the Wittekindskreis" award on 10.09.2025.

In addition to the Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg, other schools in the district are also taking steps to promote health and wellbeing. These exercises are particularly beneficial for students during stressful learning phases. For instance, Pascal Kramer, a sports scientist and trainer in the "link moves" program, led students in exercises that improve coordination, concentration, learning ability, and motivation.
