PM-JANMAN Initiative: Significant Features and Execution Procedure
Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), launched in November 2023, is a three-year initiative aimed at improving the socio-economic status of 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) across 18 states and one Union Territory. For instance, Gujarat, a top-performing state in July 2025 implementation, has delivered over 12,000 new rural homes, electrified 5,200 households, provided 100% water pipeline connectivity to 2,803 homes, and installed 37 mobile towers with more underway, demonstrating a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach to tribal welfare under PM-JANMAN[2][3].
Moreover, Gram Sabhas are being held across PVTG habitations to assist in preparing required documents like Aadhaar, caste certificates, Jan Dhan accounts, Ayushman cards, etc. The scheme also utilizes markets, community halls, CSCs, and Gram Panchayats for service outreach[4].
