Public Administration Lecture Series at Park University Highlights Discussion on Successful Leadership in Government Institutions
Park University to Host 29th Annual Dr. Jerzy Hauptmann Distinguished Guest Lecture
On September 9, 2021, Park University will host the 29th annual Dr. Jerzy Hauptmann Distinguished Guest Lecture. This prestigious event, established in honour of the university's emeritus professor of political science and public administration, Jerzy Hauptmann, will be held virtually due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
This year's keynote speaker is Mary Guy, Ph.D., professor of public administration at the University of Colorado, Denver. Mary Guy is a renowned scholar and expert in the field of public administration, with a focus on public policy, governance, and administration.
Mary Guy's presentation will delve into "Public Administration's Triple Bottom Line: People, Process and Performance." Her teaching and research have centred around the human processes involved in public service delivery, and she has authored or contributed to academic work on topics such as public management, crisis management, and organizational performance in public institutions.
Mary Guy's impressive academic background includes a bachelor's degree in psychology from Jacksonville University, a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Florida, a master's degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina, and a doctorate degree in political science from the same institution.

It is worth noting that the University's School for Public Affairs was renamed the Hauptmann School of Public Affairs in 2001, in honour of Jerzy Hauptmann. The lecture series was established through the generosity of alumni, colleagues, and friends of Jerzy Hauptmann upon his 40th anniversary at Park University.
Jerzy Hauptmann taught at Park University for more than 50 years and launched the University's first graduate degree program in 1982. Mary Guy, with her extensive experience and expertise, promises to deliver an insightful and thought-provoking lecture that will undoubtedly honour the legacy of Dr. Jerzy Hauptmann.
