Reimagining a Flawless Tomorrow: Eliminating Errors in Our Future Prospects

In the finale of the citywide theatrical competition "Law and Child: A Future Without Mistakes," six school theater groups, victors of the district rounds, performed at the State Drama and Comedy Theater named after A. Mambetov.

Prominent figures such as Deputy Mayor of the city Yessek Bayken, Children's Rights Commissioner of Kazakhstan Dinaara Zakiyeva, Deputy Chairperson of the Commission on Women and Family-Demographic Policy of Astana Nazgul Makhjan, Deputy Prosecutor of the city Bulat Mizhanbaev, Director of the capital's Education Department Qasymkhan Sengazyyev, and TV presenter Aigul Mukaieva served on the jury. Additional attendees included representatives from the General Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Education, and the district akimats.

Qasymkhan Sengazyyev stressed the importance of society protecting children's rights and children understanding the repercussions of breaking the law. The young thespians address contemporary concerns in their performances, including corruption, cyberbullying, drug trafficking, theft, and the dissemination of false information.

With an impressive display of talent, each school actor tackled pressing modern issues on stage. Competition organizer Yessek Bayken applauded the important role such events play in fostering a generation that respects their nation's laws. He expressed hope for the event's expansion to the republican level in the future.

Nurakhmatalakh Zhantakan, a 6th grader from School-Gymnasium No. 87, received the "Best Actor" memorial prize. Meirym Suleimen, a 6th grader from School No. 108, who portrayed the character Kosh, was honored as "Best Actress." School-Lyceum No. 28 excelled in the "Unique Perspective on the Theme" category, School-Gymnasium No. 58 won "Best Script," School-Gymnasium No. 17 received "Best Video," and Bek Saparkhan from School No. 93 was recognized for "Best Supporting Role."

Schools No97 and 75 were awarded for their contribution to creating social videos under the "Law and Order" principle. Winners were not only given diplomas but also received monetary and valuable prizes ranging from 50,000 to 300,000 tenge.

While specific details about the "Law and Child: A Future Without Mistakes" competition are scant, Kazakhstan boasts a rich cultural scene. For instance, the "Zhuldyzai" festival, with public voting for the Grand Prix and showcasing first-place laureates selected by a professional jury, is another notable event. Moreover, Kazakhstan has been making legislation strides, such as the newly enacted "On Amendments to Ensure the Rights of Women and the Safety of Children" law, colloquially known as "Saltanat’s Law," which addresses challenging issues like domestic abuse and child welfare.

The competition "Law and Child: A Future Without Mistakes" serves as a platform for education-and-self-development, addressing contemporary issues like politics in the form of corruption, cyberbullying, and dissemination of false information. Importantly, the event also underscores general-news topics, including law enforcement and women's rights, as evidenced by the enactment of "Saltanat’s Law" in Kazakhstan.
