The countdown to the 59th Jugend forscht competition is on, with regional competitions set to take place nationwide from February 2024. Following these regional events, state-level competitions will follow in March and April, leading up to the grand finale in May.

Jugend forscht, a renowned German youth science competition, encourages all children and young people to delve into research, invention, and experimentation. The aim of the competition is to foster talent in the fields of science and technology, providing a platform for young innovators to bring their groundbreaking projects to life.

Young people aged 15 and over participate in the Jugend forscht age group, while younger participants from grade 4 take part in the Schüler experimentieren junior category. The best competitors from each regional and state competition will qualify for the 59th federal final, scheduled from 30 May to 2 June 2024.

The registration for the 2024 competition is now open and closes on 30 November 2023. Young researchers up to the age of 21 can register for the competition by visiting the official Jugend forscht website, www.jugend-forscht.de. At this site, you can find the form for online registration, participation conditions, and the 2024 competition poster.

The Pforzheim University, along with Witzenmann GmbH, the municipal enterprise Wirtschaft and Stadtmarketing Pforzheim, are organizing the Pforzheim/Enz regional competition. The 59th round of Jugend forscht will take place at Pforzheim University on 22 and 23 February 2024.

The research topic must fit into one of the seven Jugend forscht subject areas: working world, biology, chemistry, geosciences, mathematics/informatics, physics, and technology. Young scientists can research renewable energies, invent aids for people with disabilities, program innovative software, delve into complex physical phenomena, deal with robotics, solve tricky mathematical problems, analyze chemical processes, or study the behavior of animals in their environment for the competition.

The theme of the competition is "Make a head for yourself!", inspiring participants to push the boundaries of their creativity and innovation. Cash and material prizes worth over one million euros will be awarded at all three competition levels.

For the most accurate and up-to-date details on prizes, registration, and participation conditions, we recommend visiting the official Jugend forscht website or contacting their organizers directly. Let's encourage our young scientists to rise to the challenge and make a difference in the world through their innovative ideas!

Science and education-and-self-development go hand in hand as young people are encouraged to delve into research, invention, and experimentation through the Jugend forscht competition. This online-education platform fosters talent in the fields of science and technology, providing a route for young innovators to bring their groundbreaking projects to life.
