Schools are prohibited from engaging in any fundraising events, per the decision by the Education Ministry.

School fundraising, a common sight in educational institutions, is now banned by the Ministry of Education in Kuwait. This prohibition applies to all schools, whether public or private, and includes any collections from students, parents, or staff members.

The assistant undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities, Maryam Al-Enezi, explained this move aligns with directives from the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Department of Family and Childhood Affairs. The objective is to establish a new monitoring mechanism to ensure the long-term sustainability and integrity of charitable activities.

Al-Enezi also emphasized that organizing exhibitions or events with a charitable nature or intended to collect monetary or in-kind donations is strictly off-limits. Schools found violating this circular will face legal consequences as per the Ministry's rules and regulations.

It's worth noting that Kuwait's charity work is widely recognized in the Arab and Islamic worlds, reflecting the nation's tradition of generosity and solidarity. However, this ban on school fundraising is part of an effort to keep the educational environment focused on academic and educational pursuits, minimizing potential distractions or risks associated with unauthorized charity collections.
