Texas Woman Found in Scottish 'Cult' After 2 Years Missing
A Texas woman, Kaura Taylor, has been found in Scotland after being reported missing from Dallas in 2023. The 21-year-old was discovered living in a community known as the 'Magic Kingdom of Kubala' in Jedburgh, sparking concerns about her welfare and safety.
Kaura's mother, Melba Whitehead, alleges that an African 'cult' brainwashed and coerced her daughter into moving to Scotland. The group, led by Kofi Offeh, who calls himself 'The King', and his partner Jean Gasho, 'The Queen', denies these claims. Mr Offeh has stated that 'brainwashing is the best thing ever to happen to man if it is coming from the right source'.
Scottish authorities are currently investigating the matter, assessing a report involving welfare and safety concerns. Kaura, however, insists she is not in a cult and has the ability to 'run' away if she wants. Rachael Reign, an expert on spiritual abuse and coercive religions, believes the Magic Kingdom of Kubala has all the hallmarks of a cult.
The Home Office has been approached for comment on the situation involving Kaura Taylor. Despite the group's lack of public recognition and documentation, authorities are taking the allegations seriously. Kaura's future remains uncertain as investigations continue.
