That's where TIAFI steps in. This non-profit organization has opened a sizeable community center in the heart of Tepecik, offering a place of refuge for Syrian refugees seeking guidance, food, or a chance to participate in empowering programs. Empowering Syrian Refugees, TIAFI's Way

TIAFI also hosts classes for refugee children who have been traumatized by the war. They provide assistance with schoolwork, as well as opportunities for play, dance, and music. Many of these children have suffered not only psychological trauma but physical injuries as well. To aid in their recovery, TIAFI organizes exercise classes and provides them with essential devices like wheelchairs and prosthetics.

As food and necessities become luxuries for some, increasing numbers of refugees, as well as poor Turks living in Izmir, rely on TIAFI for help.
"We used to give out 200 portions of food a day. Now we see around 350 people coming in each day to eat a free, warm meal," said Anne, the founder of TIAFI.
