University of Bremen's Student Information Day
The University of Bremen is inviting high school students and those considering further education to an information day on June 12. The event, scheduled to start at 8:30 AM, offers a comprehensive overview of various aspects of university life and study options.
Four tracks are available for visitors:
- Studying - is it right for me?
- Studying - yes, but which one?
- Studying - yes, but how do I apply?
- Dual study or vocational training?
In the first track, attendees can learn about the pros and cons of pursuing a degree, with the group "Arbeiterkind" presenting possibilities for study financing. Additionally, students from various subjects will share insights into their daily student life on campus.
The second track, Studying - yes, but which one?, provides tips on choosing a study program, with subject presentations and campus tours from a student's perspective.
For those seeking guidance on the application process, Track 3: Studying - yes, but how do I apply? will offer valuable information. The Central Study Advice will explain the steps required to secure a study place.
Those interested in vocational training or dual study programs can find information in Track 4: Dual study or vocational training?. Details about both options will be provided.
Throughout the day, visitors can attend lectures, get a taste of study content in taster lectures, and ask questions at information booths. Topics covered include interdisciplinary topics like teacher training programs, time management support, study abroad opportunities, foreign languages in studies, and study financing.
Lectures on municipal politics, production and logistics, and study financing are also planned. The event will present all fundamental bachelor's programs, and high school students can learn about training opportunities at the University of Bremen, including the dual study program in informatics.
Furthermore, information booths from the BAföG office and six foundations, including the Deutschlandstipendium, Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, will be available.
If registered with the Student Council (StuGA), participants can take a trial admission examination for music pedagogy. StuGA will also provide equipment and accommodation for external participants if needed.
Lastly, a primary school workshop on inclusive pedagogy and primary school teaching will be available for those interested in teaching careers.
