Strengthening Bamberg's Educational Landscape with New School Leadership and News of Enhanced Teaching Staff
A significant step towards enhancing the educational landscape in Bamberg was taken last Friday, as 45 teacher training candidates were sworn in and ten new principals and deputy principals were inducted into their positions. This event marks the beginning of a new era for the city and county's elementary and middle schools, bringing news of enhanced teaching staff.
The new teaching staff and school leadership will serve a total of approximately 6767 students in the 2025/26 school year. In the city of Bamberg alone, there are 2584 students in elementary schools and 1020 in middle schools, while the county of Bamberg hosts 6133 students in elementary schools and 2133 in middle schools.
The current teaching staff of 343 active members in the city of Bamberg and 784 in the county will be joined by these new educators, ensuring a robust and dedicated team to support the students' learning journey and bringing news of enhanced educational resources.
County Administrator Johann Kalb highlighted the importance of teachers for the future of the region, stating that they accompany and support students on their way to becoming independent and informed adults. Bamberg's Second Mayor and Social Affairs Officer, Jonas Glüsenkamp, emphasised the importance of class teachers as points of contact for children.

Mayor Andreas Starke also expressed his appreciation for the new school leadership, commending their motivation and dedication to the educational sector in Bamberg.
