Whitman Leadership Circle Boosts Support for Top-Ranked Business School Aspiration

The Whitman Leadership Circle (WLC), a philanthropic society for alumni, families, and friends, has played a significant role in boosting support for the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.

Launched in the fall of 2024, the WLC program has generated more than $6.3 million in new support for the school, surpassing the previous high of $7.9 million, marking the most successful cash fundraising year ever. During the 2024-25 academic year, a record-setting $10.9 million was raised in cash donations.

The WLC empowers donors to make multi-year leadership gift commitments to the Whitman School. Commitments to the WLC begin at $25,000 ($5,000 per year over five years) and can extend to $1 million or more. Donations to the WLC can be designated to any area at Whitman that a donor chooses.

The collective support from alumni, parents, and friends augments the opportunities Whitman provides students to develop, network, and position themselves for their careers. The philanthropic support from alumni and donors is more than just an investment in the Whitman School's success; it demonstrates unity and commitment to a shared vision for the school's future.

The Whitman School aims to become a top 25-ranked business school within five years. The WLC is a crucial part of this ambition, as it fosters engagement and commitment from the school's community.

The WLC donors receive a personalized stewardship experience, including special recognition, exclusive communication, invitations to events, and opportunities to interact with students and faculty. Completing the WLC interest form allows individuals to learn how to become an essential part of the Whitman School's legacy.

In the 2024-25 academic year, 1,649 donors supported the school, with 1,266 of them making gifts less than $2,500. The WLC continues to grow and engage with the Whitman community, providing opportunities for philanthropic support and engagement that make a tangible impact on the school's future.
