A Passion for Ice Cream Quality: The Story of Olga Seryuk
Got a soft spot for delectable ice cream? Meet Olga Seryuk, a woman who can sniff out the good stuff from a mile away. Her expertise in ice cream production and storage has escalated her from humble lab assistant to the head of the quality control department at an ice cream manufacturing plant in just ten breath-taking years.
Dreaming of being a teacher, Olga found herself altering paths once she graduated from school. A rapidly expanding dairy plant in her hometown piqued her interest, and fueled by her fascination with modern facilities, she opted for a career in dairy production.
Olga's career commenced with enrollment at the "Kuybyshevsky" Agricultural Technical School where, as an experiment, they had newly introduced the "Dairy Technician" specialty. After three years of hard work, she graduated with honors, ready to make her mark in the dairy world.
"I was initially offered the position of lab assistant, then engineer-chemist, which I held for three years. Simultaneously, I pursued a higher education, graduating from the Novosibirsk State Agrarian University with a degree in 'Quality Engineer.' The ice cream production line was the most challenging department because of its extensive product range and complex technological processes," says Olga with a mischievous glint in her eye. Seizing the opportunity to grow and taking on the manager of the food safety group in that department, she bravely stepped out of her comfort zone.
Fast forward to today, Olga leads the quality control department with five dedicated individuals under her wing. boasting "Modern Manager" and "Rider's Personal Efficiency" certificates to her name, this woman is breathing fresh air into the world of ice cream.
"Even though our quality control department handles a large volume of work, leadership is not a breeze. But with the management knowledge I've gained, I find ways to relate with people," says Olga with a confident smile. The skills she has honed over the years enable her to expect more than just task completion from her team members, inspiring them to constantly push their limits.
Olga cherishes the opportunity to be an essential part of her company's growth and the prospects for her personal development in her role.
As an ice cream connoisseur, Olga is more than happy to share her secret to celeberating the ultimate ice cream experience. She laments over cache frosting in supermarket freezers, a direct result of poor temperature regime adherence and plant-based fats in the composition, which can turn an otherwise divine dessert into a disappointing mess.
Proud of her contributions to her brand and the factory management that firmly believes in her, Olga has received numerous accolades, including the Honorary Certificate of the Head of Kupinsky District, a Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region, the Honorary Badge "Quality Excellence", and an Honorary Certificate from the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
