Young recruits commence their customs service at the principal office in Schweinfurt, with 23 fresh employees embarking on their customs profession.
The customs service welcomed 1,700 new recruits on September 1, marking the start of their training and studies nationwide. Among the new recruits, 23 joined the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, under the leadership of Government Director Franziska Schubert.
The new customs officers will undergo their theoretical training at the customs' own training center in Erfurt for the middle service, while those in the higher service will complete their theoretical parts at the Federal Administrative Academy in Münster.
Of the new recruits, 17 are undergoing a two-year training in the middle service, which qualifies them for the professional title of "financial administrator." Six young individuals are pursuing a three-year bachelor's degree in the higher service.
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt is now accepting applications for a position in the customs service starting September 1, 2026. Applications for a position in the middle and higher customs service at the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt can be submitted from September 1, 2026, to October 15, 2025. The application period for a dual study of administrative informatics at the General Customs Directorate is also during the same period.
Persons eligible to register for training at the main customs office Schweinfurt on September 1, 2026, include those applying for a two-year training program in the intermediate service and those applying for a three-year dual bachelor's degree course in administrative computer science or law. The programs combine theoretical education at federal schools and practical phases at the customs offices.
The dual study program lasts three years and concludes with the academic degree "Bachelor of Laws." After completing their studies or training, the young customs officers can be assigned to various areas of customs.
